Magical Panda Software
I'm an iPhone, iPad and Mac application developer. I write mac apps that are productive, yet useful, intuitive for the target audience and easy to use. I tend to follow general design conventions in my apps, unless the convention doesn't work in a specific instance. I believe that design is more than just a layer of polish on top, it's woven deep within applications, and comes across from start to finish.
The company name, Magical Panda, was inspired by the film Kung Fu Panda. It's that sort of lighthearted nature that I choose to promote.
The application for which this icon is for is targeted a Mac developers. The name, Template of Doom, is a play on "Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom". Most developers will get the joke. The audience is used to seeing the icons that come with Mac developer tools like Xcode, Interface Builder and Instruments. Developers are a technical bunch (of course) and usually overlook design, however mac developers generally have an eye for design (even if they can't do it themselves) and know what fits into the ecosystem of Mac app icons.
The application is a template editor for developers.
As mentioned, the name of the app is a play on the movie title "The Temple of Doom".
Requirements:
- Must incorporate the idea of a temple. I am currently leaning towards Mayan or Aztec influenced designs, but I'm open to alternatives.
- Must either be vector format, or include all these sizes: 512x512, 256x256, 128x128, 64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16 in PNG or TIFF
Nice to have:
- Incorporate the idea of a document, such as a text file, in the logo.
- Blends in well with the current set of Mac Developer tool icons:

Feel free to experiment with colors, and temples.
