We are looking to have completely unique, custom, hand drawn characters (vector) designed for our blog. The idea is to release comic strips titled "chapter 1, chapter 2, etc". Then use those comic strips as the Pinterest pins for the blog post. Each one will tell a unique progressive story of the comic families camping journey. The first, will be the introduction into our website of "Let's Go Kamping".
So, we need the family of 5 characters designed. Then I want them put into a small vertical comic strip with a few scenes as part of this project to serve as our first pin worthy blog post comic. The layout should be tall vertically with our logo “Let’s Go Kamping” design in the center as well as “Chapter 1” and “LetsGoKamping.com”.
Husband character - Big guy, usually goes over the top, jumps to assumptions easy, typically wrong about things but fun at the same time.
Wife - Clever, composed yet fun. Usually right about things but usually gives a little grin to audience indicating that she knew she was right but without rubbing it in her husbands face.
Son 9 yrs old into anything fun
Daughter 13 yrs old and all about internet and trendy things
Son 3 years old - always over the top getting into trouble, close calls getting hurt, etc
Did you pick which theme park yet?
Theme park? Oh, no! I’m still recovering from the last one! Let’s go camping instead!
(Maybe a thought bubble of backpacking hardcore camping)
[wife in shock looking scared of the thought. Perhaps kids giving similar look.]
Wife on computer searching ideas
Wife showing husband computer with cabin picture on it and “mini golf” or something else KOA offering indicated.
“No [insert name once figured out], Lets Go Kamping!”
[scene of kids excited as parents tell them]
Comic and character style... Think towards direction of characters from Incredibles or those types of shows but not superhero obviously. The graphic style of what 2D interpretations of characters like that would be. They need to play into our newly designed logo so that they could fit right into such an equal styled scene as if the logo was designed from it.
The comics should not be too complex that its unrealistic to make numerous affordable comics from it. Whoever wins will likely receive many follow up one-on-one projects from this.
