I’m currently working on a new feature to motivate people to do their workouts regularly in my app Hercules (currently featured by Google on the Play Store in the section New & Updated). You can see it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/…oz.hercule.
Basically, it’s a gamification feature that will allow the user to progress on several levels. He starts on level 1 with 0 XP (eXPerience points) and can go up to level 50. Each time he finishes a workout, he gets 1 more XP point and progresses a level (at the beginning). The more he climbs the level ladder, the more difficult it is to reach the next level: he’ll have to cumulate more workouts to reach the next level. See the levels list attached to this brief.
At the minimum, I need you to design 6 icons for levels 1, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. Ideally I would need 50 helmet icons that are slightly different for all levels... but I don't know if you can create that amount of icons in 1 week? If not, I'll hire the winner again later to design more helmet icons when I've the budget (next month).
The icons should remain in the theme of the app, so they should all represent a helmet that will evolve incrementally. See the app icon attached to this brief for an example of a really basic helmet.
The helmet structure can vary over levels, for example you can start with a very simple helmet like a half sphere for level 1 and then add the protections on the cheeks on level 10 and then the protection for the nose on level 20 etc. You can also work on the material of the helmet to make it stronger and more beautiful over time: for example you can start with a helmet made of wood, bronze, and then silver, and then gold.
The background of the icon should be a light dark grey (color HEX value #424242).
The icons should become more and more beautiful & powerful over each level, with more and more details / accessories or whatever could make the helmet better (more rivets, etchings, gildings, fur etc.). You can inspire yourself from these pictures:
I don’t care about little errors about history: you can mix helmets from greek culture or roman culture or any other type of ancient culture it’s okay, as the helmet evolves nicely on each level. Of course, don’t put a futurist helmet with some lasers or whatever techy stuff! It must remain ancient!
I need volume for helmets, so use lite shadows to create volume. Shadows must be soft and subtle as in the app. I don't want the rendering of a 3D model of a helmet (with too much shadows, gradients and layers), just a beautiful 2D picture with some nice shadows to get volume.
The orientation of the helmet should be the same for all icons. You can use a front orientation (like my app icon), or a 3/4 orientation (as in the helmet1.jpeg picture attached, left or right I don't care) or an orientation on the side (as in the helmet2.png picture attached, left or right I don't care).
You can't use the same color for a whole helmet. Paint the material of your helmet with the real color, if you use some silver, make it grey, if you use gold, make it gold yellow, if you add some fur, make it red etc.
The more the user progresses in levels the more beautiful and powerful the icon should be. Each time a new level is reached, the user must crave to achieve the next level to discover the next helmet! So each helmet must be like a trophy for the user, so make them beautiful & shine, make them enviable!
I need high definition square icons: 512 x 512 px, PNG format + the source(s) file(s) of course (no matter what software you used to design it).
I need only 6 helmets icons for levels 1, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. Ideally the 50 icons for each level if you can make it!
