A labor of love for lovers of words, ideas, contemporary cultural nuance and soft cotton tees. Concepts touch on and articulate contemporary political and cultural issues. Just starting out with a collection of six concepts: Bear Witness, Inhale/Exhale, god is good (spelled phonemically), My Heart is Healthy Enough for Sex, Halves/Halves Not (math joke), When You Write You Write. Audience will vary per concept. For this one (My Heart is Healthy Enough for Sex), the primary audience (technically) is men over 40 who are bombarded daily with Cialis and Viagra ads, during which they're all told to "ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for sex." This could also be a big seller with people who know these guys, and it be worn more ironically by a younger set.
¿Qué te inspira y qué diseño imaginas para tu empresa?
I want several designs done but I'll start with this one: My Heart is Healthy Enough for Sex. If you haven't already, check out the ubiquitous ads for Cialis and Viagra. The background voice always says the same thing: "Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for sex." I'd like to turn that into a refrain any number of people could wear on their chest in form of a t-shirt. It says "my heart is healthy enough for sex," or maybe just "healthy enough for sex" if the visual is strong enough to carry the "heart" part of the phrase. I'm looking for fun with a bite to it. Nothing even verging on cartoonish, and nothing even close to "I heart this" or "I heart that." No big red heart emojis, please! I'm thinking something that's closer to fine art with great typography (true for all the concepts I'm developing. I've attached an image of a book jacket that gets the visual idea across, though of course I'm open to an entirely different approach as long as it doesn't feel frivolous and predictable. In my mind I can replace the crow with a heart, and the title with my copy, but maybe that's too dark? If you see a different, more compelling direction, please go there! You're the designer. I welcome your vision.
In my mind I'm thinking the whole thing happens in one color...black...or reversed in white on a dark shirt... but I'm open to more color if your idea on the concept calls for it. The image of the crow book cover that's attached is cool, but now I'm thinking that approach to illustration might be a little too dark and impersonal. I like it because it feels strong, but it might be lacking the fun part of the whole idea.
