The client ask for a mascot monster to represent the dangers of the red dye 40. It causes problems in teeth, besides hyperactivity and aggressiveness. Kids usually don´t really like to be call "babies", once they feel that they are grown up, but the effects of the Red Dye 40 seems to make them like babies: Hyperactivity, bad humor, trouble concentrating, that´s why I represent those problems in this monster, and add the diapers. It has little feet and hands so the kids don´t see him as a threat (diapers also help), even with the big mouth and rotten teeth.

He had found lots of friends and made the world a better place along the way. Stab evil thing until it stops moving, gain experience points, collect money, repeat. It was a simple life and he was happy. But everything changed one day when he walked into the commander’s office. First, she told him he was destined for great things. Then, she told him he wasn’t living up to his potential. A pat on the back later, he was out on the street and looking for new work. Moms could be funny that way sometimes. With nothing more than a small bag of gold and a “do your best,” she had tasked him with forming a new company, becoming a better person, and not getting horribly murdered along the way. Nothing too grand. Life was going to get a lot more complicated.

The only visible hand of a monster is throwing a chest full of gold onto the road to the lighthouse. Since the creature emerged from the deep, it set in motion a powerful tsunami-like waves, which are about to submerge the small settlement in the back.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival is the largest performing arts (theatre/dance/cabaret/etc) festival in the Western US. Each year, they present thousands of performances of cutting-edge, diverse work. Generally, the cover image includes their mascots - "the Freaks". The "look" of these monsters had to be adapted to a unique new aesthetic, not by recycling old images. The mascots, however, must be recognizable in shape and color. I opted for cut shapes and some curves. Something really fun in an arts tower shambles.

My aim is to teach kids how evil food dyes are for their bodies. Red dye 40 is known to make children more hyper and is loaded in many candies, icing, dressings, juices, etc.
