Santa Clara (although it is not necessary to have the name in the
logo)
Santa Clara is a boutique hotel located 10 minutes from the heart of Siem Reap. Situated on the river road in a sought after part of the city only a few kilometers from Angkor Watt, the spiritual home of siem reap. Santa Clara encapsulates the authentic Siem Reap experience and culture but provides the safety, security and comforts that sophisticated travelers expect.
Design elements of the logo will draw inspiration, but not copy, the Apsara dancing girls which are at the heart of Cambodian culture…. The arches of the temples are a design feature associated with the mystical dancing female. She is mysterious, elegant, refined and beautiful and is a figure from both the Buddhist and Hindu religion.
The client has in mind that the repeating arches of Angkor watt may be used to frame an element of the apsara dancer. Maybe she appears from behind the columns, part of her face, part of her hand.
The logo design must appeal to the discerning traveller, typically aged 30 and up, who want comfort but not to be isolated from the cultural experience of a run of the Mill 4 star property . It must be unique, artistic. We don’t not envisage having the hotel name in the logo but will take direction of font style which will match. It should have clean lines which resolve at a small logo size.
Colours: The two colours we would like in the logo are a burnt orange and charcoal (see colours) on a white background. The logo must also work in monotone
Logo applications:
• Menu
• Business card (smallest application – 10 to 15 mm wide)
• Location card
• Flyer logo
• Signage from mirror signs which may sit behind the reception desk, metal cut out signs which may go on hotel gates –potentially monotone
• Online applications
• Letter heads
Burnt Orange, Grey on a white background
Mostly covered in background
2 Design elements my client keen on
1 - the repeating arches of angkor watt temple - best explained by these images - client envisages these may surround the apsara dancer elements

2 - Apsara dancer - take an element of the dancer (not the whole dancer as would be too complex)
