Aiuda - a derivation of the spanish word for help: ayuda. (The two phonetically sound the same)
We are an energetic and international team based in Monterrey (Mexico), San Francisco and New York launching an innovative Web 2.0 service in Latin America. Our start-up is well financed and the founders bring years of experience from successful financial, consulting and media/design firms as well as Latam conglomerates (Goldman Sachs, Francisco Partners, McKinsey & Co., Kate Spade, Vitro and ALFA)
Aiuda will offer a user-driven Web 2.0 service that utilizes the power of “crowdsourcing” to generate honest, current knowledge about local communities. Visitors will be able to share their experiences with the world through user-generated online reviews about local businesses and events, and through direct interaction with one another, thereby creating a highly comprehensive city guide and social network based upon real life experiences.
Aiuda.com will initially serve the Mexican market but, over time, will expand to serve all Spanish-speaking Latin American markets. The target user base will be Spanish speaking 18-35 year old urban/semi-urban internet users who leverage “word of mouth” as a source of knowledge and insight about businesses and events within their local community before committing the acts of “trying and buying.” We ancitipate our core users will be young-ish, energetic, always exploring new things and "in the know" about their communities and surroundings. Additionally, the English language version of the site will be geared towards expatriates living in Mexico and Latin America as well as foreign tourists.
Aiuda is meant to help visitors discover recommended local businesses (find help) and review those they frequent (offer help). The world "Aiuda" should be the main focus of the logo.
We are looking for a logo that is:
1. Friendly and Inviting (after all, we are a web 2.0 style community!)
2. "Trustworthy" (we are a medium for providing honest, current information)
3. Professional (think Metromix.com, Yelp.com, Citysearch)
4. Bright (what comes to mind when you think about the diversity and color of Latin America
5. The logo should be simple but not simplistic - we want a clean look
6. Similar to how the Facebook "F" has been contrived from their logo, we would like the A in Aiuda to be unique so that we can use it for icon/advertising purposes
Other design notes: be creative! We are open to logos in all caps, partial caps, no caps, different colors and styles. Based on this design, we will launch other design projects using a compatible color scheme and offer more work to the winning designer
The files we will require are:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
Any others you recommend as our designer and which could be used for all mediums - web, print, t-shirts, marketing materials, etc.
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo, or anything else that would otherwise cause copyright issues.
