I am a breast cancer survivor / activist with a bold vision- to change the pink culture of breast cancer.
"Green is the new Pink!"
Funds raised through our web site http://www.Think Pink Live Green.ca will be provided to the Canadian Breast Cancer Support Fund (CBCSF) whose mission is to provide financial support for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
While tens of millions of dollars are raised every year in the name of breast cancer, the funds raised are primarily directed to research, education and awareness- all worthy endeavors- while the significant financial challenges that come with a breast cancer diagnosis continue to be overlooked.
Think of our brand promise as Women supporting Women.
We are looking to change people's hearts and minds when it comes to pink and breast cancer.
Women of all ages are the primary audience.
Many people, breast cancer survivors in particular, are looking to lead a healthier life and tread lightly on the planet.
Breast cancer survivors looking to adopt a healthier lifestyle after a diagnosis have a heightened interest in the eco/ green movement.
This has led us to the Think Pink*Live Green philosophy.
Dedicated to living healthier and 'greener', our site will link to featured 'green living' organizations (retailers, manufacturers , service organizations) who have committed to providing either a percentage of sales or a designated fee accompanying a sale to the CBCSF. (for example: safe cosmetics, green cleaning products, organic clothing)
As well as links to 'green' products, the Think Pink/Live Green web site will contain a personal blog, current issues related to breast cancer; articles, information and other web sites about cancer and the environment, news, events, and articles of interest for women. (both 'pink' and 'green')
The challenge is to design a logo that blends the readily recognized 'pink ribbon' and a green icon that represents the eco/green movement.
While the pink ribbon is widely recognized as THE icon for breast cancer, the time has come to 'rethink' pink.
I would like a simple design as it will appear on clothing and printed marketing material.
If you create something entirely new, i can be sure that it won't infringe on any existing logos.
I wonder: Is it possible to take the highly recognized pink ribbon icon and blend it/move it/morph it into something green. (I like the idea of pink and green ribbons intertwined and/or trailing along after the new logo. I could use this design idea (the pink/green intertwined ribbons) on the web site. - or not!
Feel free to think outside the existing pink culture and create something entirely different)
I haven't any technical experience to describe the format required. (looking at other projects -I think i need to ask you to provide design in jpg/jpeg or CDR or AI (?). I know I need something that I can provide to printers and clothiers that will allow the logo to be easily reproduced and I'm not sure how to describe this.
I am open to any and all ideas. I prefer a new and creative design (dare i say soft and 'feminine') rather than something that looks too 'corporate'.
I will be very responsive to designs submitted.
Feel free to ask me for further clarification.
