2-D Electrical Drafting

It doesn't have to have the whole name in it, I don't think. 2-D Drafting, or Electrical Drafting or something like that would be fine if it fits better. I supposed it doesn't have to have any of the name in it if you go with a more abstract branding. I've developed a piece of drafting software plug-in for autocad. I hope to get it into their Exhange Apps store, I'll upload a screenshot of a page from there to show logos others have. It's in the construction industry and is used to draft permit plans for electrical: i.e. lighting and power engineering.
The target audience is electrical contractors and engineers who work as consultants to the architectural community.

I'm also working on a piece of software for the Mechanical design industry. So if it's at all possible to de-emphasize the 'Electrical' aspect, the logo could brand that as well.
The logo will go to the exchange apps website, a youtube channel, and a facebook page.
I've always liked the concept of a sphere logo up front and something, or a name, in the background. Kind of like the 'stantec consulting' (google that) round logo that looks like an 'S'. It could be an abstract look. Or don't do that at all, I'm not the creative one. Oh - and even though it has to do with electricity, I hate lightning bolts. Lightning bolts have been done to death in this business.
