We are an environmental NGO working to save the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. We are launching an ecolodge in Jan 2018 to generate income for our organization. 100% of proceeds will fund our important conservation work.
Visitors to our site will have fun, educational, hands-on experiences in the rainforest led by our team of dedicated conservationists, scientists and local guides. Examples include releasing rescued baby sea turtles into the sea, monitoring photos captured on our camera traps (maybe spot a jaguar!), work on our sustainable farm, etc.
We will be branding this separately from our NGO and calling the whole initiative Osa Verde. Osa Verde will be the umbrella brand that covers our various properties and facilities and eventually even farm products.
Target audiences are: birdwatchers, yoga retreats, volunteers, student groups, professors, researchers, families. Clientele range from 18-80 so something everyone can relate to is ideal - not too hip, not too stuffy.

Looks like a stamp or scientific illustration. Small lettering gets lost on thumbnail sizes and small print applications though...

We have been working with drafts of a bird logo since that is our top target clientele but we are not married to the idea. We do want to avoid popular tropical/tourism images like the tree frog, macaw, toucan, etc - everyone is the tropics uses those charismatic species. Trees, leaves, other wildlife, tropical motifs may work...
We own a property that is the last stronghold for a bird called the Yellow-billed Cotinga - not a remarkable bird but a standout for people who know and care and it speaks to our core mission and conservation work - which is the only reason for opening a Lodge - to generate income to support our work.
We want to ensure that the Osa Verde brand links to Osa Conservation in a coherent way visually and via cross pollination of the websites, etc. Sticking with greens & blues would be nice for continuity & look better when placed together. Verde should be colored green (as it means green in spanish).
Uses will include: product labels, merchandise (including probably embroidered staff uniforms).
