Lori McIntosh Photography
I am a second generation portrait artist following in the footsteps of my very famous dad http://www.portraitsbymcintosh.com who recently won the Lifetime Achievement Award from Professional Photographers of America and was listed as one of the top five in the world. I am a late bloomer starting in my 40s because I have 2 gorgeous Arabian horses and the cutest dog ever, Odin. They are my inspiration to capture the relationship pets have with their humans. My tag line is ...because they love you. Not sure if I want to keep it. I love photographing families too especially if they have a pet. My style is timeless classic with flair. It is all outdoors in the San Francisco bay area in California so my locations are almost always stunning. I love to tell a story through my portraits and really plan ahead where the portrait will take place, usually a place where the client spends time and I discuss their clothes that look best on them as well as compliment the pet like a black horse looks great if the owner is wearing blue. Also, I visit the client at home so I see where the portrait will go on the wall as decor and what colors look best. I need to know their style so I can fit mine in with theirs. After the design is developed, the session happens, and finally I go back to their home for a viewing of about 15 images and we decide on frames, gallery wraps or portraits on metal.
My clients value my work as a photographer and view me as an artist, not a record taker. They appreciate fine art and are willing to pay for it. I am low volume, high end and treat them like gold with lots of extra goodies. I target animal lovers who view their horses, dogs and/or cats as children and love them as such. While everyone has a digital camera, I want those who don't have time to do their own portraits and believe that there are professionals out there who are worth paying for. Most horse owners are women and they are usually the ones who want a portrait with a dog or cat as well as family portraits. Since I am in California, my client tends to be more liberal, less traditional and fairly casual.
I have the font I want. I have the colors I want but it is just my name. Lori McIntosh Photography. Please view my website and blog. http://www.lorimcintoshphotography.com I need an icon and/or my name Lori Mc integrated within my full name. I like being called Lori Mc as I think it makes me stand out. No one on the West Coast knows my dad or sister who has been a photographer for 62 years (yes he is 82 and still works) and had 3 studios in Virginia, so I am on my own and have to start from zero with networking and marketing. I want the logo to be updated on my website, blog, facebook and other social media platforms. I plan on having a newsletter and want to add it to my brochures, business cards, stickers, bags for portraits, etc. I did want something relating to horses and dogs or just pets but I want to do families too. I want something relating to the outdoors as I am mostly on hillsides, the beach, woods, parks, flower beds, etc. I use red and white in my name with a driftwood like background which is a brownish gray. I like gold and wouldn't mind a raised icon. Anything that signifies wealth, class, timeless, heirloom, etc. This is a career I plan on having forever and I want my logo to be simple yet catchy for the Northern California happening not affected by the poor economy crowd.
