The web site is meant as a non-profit information resource for security information on IPv6, the new Internet protocol.
For those who don't know: Currently the Internet is run on IPv4, however the address space is nearly depleted. Because of this, IPv6 as defined which requires a lot of changes on the Internet, even for end users.
As this has security implications, interested people will need information on how to secure IPv6 installastions.
And the web site this logo is for should function as a central resource for this. People will be able to contribute content and discuss topics.
The web site is meant for administrators, security gurus, hackers, students, programmers - who are interested in ipv6 and security.
The web site will have two entry points:
one for ipv6security and one for ipv6hacking information to cater to the two different views on the IPv6 topic.
Therefore the logo should reflect the security/protective part as well as the hacking/offensive part of the web site.
Overall the style should be conservative and business like looking.
To clarify: one logo for both web site entries.
ipv6security and ipv6hacking - or a visual combination of these - have to be in the logo.
Beside that there are no further requirements so far. If entries go into an interesting direction, there will be comments and input on it.
If a font is used, it must be free of charge (no license fee necessary for non-profit use). Clip arts and pictures are not allowed in the logo.
Format: .JPG, smallest side minimum 360pixel, plus an EPS file.
NOTE: as an added value for the designer - if you want, you can be fully named on the web site as the designer of the logo with contact information and web site.
