Inspired by the need for a well-made hat fit for the next big adventure, M68 (pronounced "M-Six-Eight") began. We're currently based out of Louisville but have influence from all over--Austin, Chicago, Nebraska, Hawaii, Southern California, Seattle, Colorado, and the Carolinas.
Our target audience is male, age 20-35, with a variety of interests and an active lifestyle, but at the core of it, a relentless desire for adventure. He is willing to pay for a premium product because he sees the value in a product that won't fail him when he needs it most.
There are three main focuses of our brand:
We make baseball-style caps using high-quality, USA sourced materials. Our hats are "go anywhere, do anything" hats and designed to last a lifetime and get better as they age.
2. Responsible sourcing and manufacturing:
The fabric mill we chose to partner with has the ability to do full organic cotton fabric or a mix of organic cotton and recycled polyester. We hope to have everything made and sourced in the U.S., as this gives us the best chance to ensure those involved are making fair wages and working under good conditions.
3. Social Justice
We want our customer to love our products first for the design and quality. That said, we believe there's an opportunity to create the best hat possible, the best way possible, while doing as much good as possible. Therefore, we'll be using a portion of our proceeds to give to an organization fighting injustice in the world.
We were inspired by our desire to chase adrenaline rushes, found in adventures from skiing and surfing to mountain biking and other outdoor sports. We needed a hat that would withstand it all. This is our focus, but we want to be clear - this hat can be worn on any occasion - going out with friends, working in the garage, or paddling out to catch the perfect wave.
