WHO HE IS: Brian Moran is an entrepreneur and an online marketing thought leader. He is also the co-founder of SamCart, an online shopping cart application that helps businesses make sales online. In the 8 years he's been out of college, he's started 3 businesses culminating in SamCart which he grew from a couple hundred thousand company to one with revenues of at least 4M/year and growing fast. He's a self-taught marketer who will be sharing/selling the practical knowledge and proven strategies he used to create and promote SamCart.
WHAT HE'S DOING: Brian is launching a personal brand to build a business as an online marketing guru who will promote his strategies and philosophy for "Going Pro" with your online business. Which basically means: Stop treating your business like a hobby and truly commit yourself to do whatever it takes -- educating yourself in serious marketing practices and putting in the hard work that's required -- to scale a $10k a year online company into one the makes 7 or 8 figures. This new brand will allow him separate his marketing guru brand promotion efforts from his more purely product SaaS efforts while maintaining some kind of synergistic connection between the two.
DEMOGRAPHICS/PSYCHOGRAPHICS: The audience probably skews a little more male than female. Full age range. 25 to 60+ Everyone from people just starting their careers and hating the corporate culture and restraints and wanting to be their own boss to close-to -end-of-career people who are tired of having their future tied to corporate whims and are either concerned about or have experienced being "seniored out" of their position at a company they've worked at most of their career. They are not totally new to the online business world. They likely have some kind of business already started but haven't made a go of it yet. The are tired of messing around and are searching for a trusted guide/practical, proven approaches that will help their business finally take off in a really big way.
LOCATION: Online -- so it's global.
A personal brand logo for online entrepreneur and founder of a checkout platform SaaS that compliments/looks great next to our company (SamCart) logo. Will be used online and for digital product "packaging" as well as a full range of advertising promotional efforts -- everything from newsletters and ebooks to trade show signage and promotional premium products. It needs to look as good on a golf ball as it does on a large banner. Here are a few other parameters:
1. Visually compatible with the SamCart Logo (attached)
2. The name Brian Moran should be spelled out -- designs using initials (BM) obviously may not be the way to go
3. Consider the possibility of incorporating Brian's cypher-like signature (attached)
4. Consider an option of "Going Pro with Brian Moran"
4. Looks good/legible reduced to a small size
5. Fresh, contemporary, bold feel
6. Sophisticated techie/jock personality -- (former college baseball player)
