Creates high-end timepieces. Each watch model is tied to a charity and the purchase of a timepiece contributes significantly to a designated charity. The first charity will be a veteran-focused domestic charity; we hope to expand to international charities as well so the design should not be too military/veteran/patriotic focused.
The name Blackwell comes from a Medal of Honor recipient who was killed in France in WWI. When his unit was surrounded, his commander sent one soldier as a messenger to get help. He was killed. The commander sent a second soldier, who was also killed. Then the commander went to his men and asked for a volunteer to try again. PFC Robert Blackwell volunteered, and he lost his life trying to deliver the message, for which he was awarded the MoH. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_L._Blackwell

I'd like a symbol associated with the name Blackwell. I like the idea of a silhouette animal like a buffalo (strong) or rooster (unique) or perhaps something more inanimate like an anvil (to emphasize good craftsmanship, though an anvil is not right). I'd like it to be easily identifiable, classic, and perhaps it'd look good in the 12 o'clock spot on a watch face. Rolex has the crown as their logo, some watch companies have propellors, I'd like to have something recognizable and simple.
