Quality Of Life Sports and Therapeutic Massage Inc. Tag Line: Results Oriented Massage Therapy
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. When I began my business my biggest concern was that I was not perceived as Masseuse, or concentrated on "fluff" spa services. There is also a public perception that people in my business aren't serious professionals...I felt it was time to change that. When I am speaking at an event, or networking at chambers etc...I wear a coat and tie, when I work I wear khakis and polo shirt with my logo, I never wear scrubs.
I spend somewhere between $5000.00 and $7500.00 per year continuing to educate myself in the higher level modalities which bring REAL healing to people in pain, with injuries, restrictions, or who want to just continue to be active. I believe that the ability to move, ambulate, be mobile is a huge part of positive mindset and quality of life. So, while I do practice regular massage modalities, I focus on the sports, orthopedic, medical side of it. Having said that, I want the public to know that all of this training and focus makes my regular relaxation massage that much better!
I am an athlete myself, I cycle, run marathons, tri-athlons etc...so I can relate to the physical and mental demands placed on the body by high performing people. I also love the relationships I develop with my clients. I love getting to know them, sharing their victories, personla records, goals etc, it all helps me to be tuned in to their needs.
My target audience is:
Weekend Warriors: Those folks who work regular jobs, but for whom sports is an opportunity to challenge themselves against their own personal records or times. Tri-athletes, marathoners, ultra-distance runners, cyclists, golfers, tennis players, coaches.
Active Elderly: Those senior citizens who are attempting to remain active through golf, working out, any of the above sports, to gardening, walking, yoga etc
Professional athletes: I already treat some pro athletes in the Houston area. Mainly these people are looking to remain injury free, or keep any kind of edge in their performance
People in Pain: This can be anyone who has repetitive motion injuries due to work, Thoracic Outlet Syndrone, Carpal , etc...I have tests I do to isolate and diagnose the issue , create a plan of treatment and get them on the way to healing.
Stressed out People: These are the run of the mill complaints, tight shoulders, neck pain, crick in the neck, headaches etc...
MMA: The mixed martial arts world is a new market I am breaking into. There are at least 50 schools in the immediate area that have athletes training for bouts at any given time, being stretched, and staying flexible and injury free, as well as recovering quickly between competitions are extremely important.
Allright...I have been using Q.O.L. to shorten Quality of Life, but I am not opposed to using the entire spelling either. Let me first tell you what I do not want. I do not want hands, birds, auras, soft glowing lights, angels, asian symbols, etc...it's all been done and it does not fit what I am going after.
I want to convey professionalism, competency, results, fun, movement, and high performance. I think bodies in motion are also over done, but if you have something really original I will certainly consider it. I am not opposed to something fun to get the point accross as well. There used to be a massage practice in town called "Blue Monkey Massage" (this company is gone now) and the website said a really great massage is hard to find and as elusive as finding a blue monkey in the jungles of Mexico, but the owner did provide that rare experience. I already have the name, but if the timing were right I wouldn't have minded a blue monkey swinging from the QOL and I could have explained it in the website and print material. I'm not saying to do exactly that, rather I am illustrating that I am open to some whimsical fun design that would allow me to say "Hey this is different...there mediocre therapists, and this is really different...this is GREAT" Having said that, I'd like to see a traditionally professional design and one that is more fun and whimsical.
