- 1. the long term business goal is "great local service and quality pool products". Long term we wish to differentate ourselves by having local service professionals deliver products and services through a national web site and brand.
2. the name does not have to be poolpros but it should include the concept that we sell pool products and that we have professionals locally to help you
3. because of this I always figured a logo with some representation of a "professional" would be good weather a siloure of a guy or a cartoon or a head shot. but i would say this is not a requirement rather just an idea. A logo without this could work, a name with out this could work. At some point in the branding we do need to communicate that this is MORE than a website, there are folks involved that can install and service your pool as well.
4. effective use of color. i like the sites like firefox.com http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/
the web 2.o style is cool, but not required, but the point is that 1. There is a color pallate of effective collors that blend well, 2. general clean design. Small banner, small use of graphics and let the content or message win, not having to have a 5 inch header to sell your brand. not that you cant have a logo that is dominant, just not some much stuff. .
