Koorack
Koorack is the Aboriginal word for "soil". The inspiration behind the name is Matthew 13:23, "But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown." Nobody needs a bunch of theology crammed down their throat here, so we won't. The bottom line is that we feel called to help Christian churches and Christian-based organizations/non-profits grow through our ability to provide a product/service at no cost to them.
The product/service is technology based: Computers, software, bells, whistles, Rob the Robot kind of stuff.
Nothing really complicated about it. You know.. soil.. seed.. helping plant seeds that will grow. The churches/organizations/non-profits are the seeds. We help them grow. They spread the word. We feel all good inside. The whole thing drips with symbolism. But seriously, we really want to try and do something good here and a snappy logo is unbelievably important to draw interest when we start rolling.
The current target audience is Christian churches and Christian-based organizations and non-profits. We may expand this in the future to other audiences/services, but the company will remain focused on Christianity and spreading the word.
The sky is the limit. A few things that come to mind..
Unless you have some really cool idea involving Aboriginal art, don't do it. Our target audience is any place on the entire globe, not just the Aboriginal people. We're inspired, not tunnel-visioned.
Also, unless you have some really cool idea involving the cross, Bible, or other blatant religious symbols, don't do those, either. We're plenty proud of our beliefs, but we believe in generating interest through example, not beating you upside the head with a Bible or screaming scripture at you. Besides, our target audience is already in our demographic.
Color scheme: Again, the sky is the limit. But the logo *MUST* be able to be delivered in white, black, blue, and other primary color backgrounds. It's going to be put onto letterhead for mailings, as well on a Joomla-type website. We don't have a theme selected yet so we need to the logo to work later on regardless of the final color scheme. The final logo would be delivered as several separate image files with different color backgrounds. This may be a no-brainer to you graphics people, but we wanted to mention it anyway.
