Liberty Hair Company
We are a Husband and Wife team running a high fashion, and very busy hair dressing salon in Strathaven Scotland and we are re-inventing our image and looking for a hot new logo (and more) to go along with our new look.
Wife (Originally from New York City) moved to Scotland to start a life and business with her Scottish Husband. Husband (Born and raised in Scotland) is the Talent behind the excellent hairdressing.
We choose the name Liberty Hair Company as we wanted to incorporate both our worlds and infuse a new future and business for years to come.
We aim to be the best hairdressing salon in Strathaven and the surrounding areas. We currently have clients of all ages, and want to continue to appeal to the widest age range possible. We want our clients, and potential new clients to look at our logo, know what the logo is selling and feel totally inspired to walk thru our doors and feel confidant that they will be taken care of from start to finish.
We are looking for a logo that represent Hair Dressing Excellence without following any stereo-typical hair/scissor images.
One idea was to somehow incorporate the Crown of the Statue of Liberty but we were not sure how to do that. One reason was because the obvious, I am from New York, and the other reasons is that we felt it would stand for Freedom and we want our customers to feel a sense of freedom to experiment on their image. If the statue of liberty crown is used, then it HAS to be subtle, not obvious as we don’t want it to feel like a holiday brochure.
This logo MUST be appealing to both ladies and gentleman as it is a unisex salon.
We know that we definitely do not want any scissors in the logo… or clips of hair, no cartoon images or ladies.
We want our logo to be elegant and rich, but not so fancy that people think we are not affordable and approachable, but not cheap and boring
The font (typeface) for the text we are open too, however we want it to be clear to read, not script. What ever the font is… we want the word Liberty to be slightly larger, see example below (just an example)
HAIR COMPANY (smaller text)
The colours we had in mind were: Deep Red/Burgundy with Gold, Brown & Gold, or even Green & White’ish, but absolutely no Blue, but were open as long as it feels elegant and can appeal to both ladies and gents.
