We are a German based audio service provider with 10 years of experience in writing work for hire music for our clients. We also work for various music libraries (= stock music that can be licensed by all sorts of clients).
Over time we have assembled thousand of tracks that we want to publish in our own music library now. The special thing about it, is that it will be completely royalty free = the clients pay once, and then they can use the music in any way they want. Our focus music styles are orchestral / classical, high quality instrumental pop & rock music. Our music production label is famous for high class orchestra recordings and epic trailer music productions. Our goal is to provide breathtaking music, set apart from the masses of cheap and average quality music that can be purchased as royalty free music now.
The distribution of the music will mainly be done via DVD in a rather old fashioned way.
Our target audience is purely business to business. Private consumers do not buy or license our music. We distribute the music to TV stations, editors, cutters, radio stations, trailer houses, webdesign companies, film production companies, etc. Even though the media industry is young and cool there are still lots and lots of veterans who are perhaps reached by something that is not too much lifestyle and more timeless.
We are looking for something iconic in our logo that gives an idea of "FREEDOM" & "LIBERTY" as the music can be used with no restrictions after purchase. Iconic symbols of freedom (head or corona of the Liberty Statue; freedom dove, etc.) could work for something classy with style. However waves like: (( )) or symbolic radio towers sending "Waves or Pulses" over the Globe could also work as something more "trendy". A Globe is something that could work very well - however we have to stay away from the "UNIVERSAL MUSIC" Logo that is a world globe!
This is about a lettering in two different languages = the logo shoud be the same but the name of the company is different in English and in German.
SONIC LIBERTY in English
KLANGFREIHEIT in German (the meaning is the same)
We might add even other languages over time (e.g. in Korean, French, Italian, Chinese) that is why the logo should be adaptable. However for this brief it is sufficient to get us the two versions with exactly the same logo picture - one with the German lettering and one with the English lettering.
The logo should be working well as a thumbnail in Facebook / Social Networks. So it should be closer to a square than to a flat oblong form.
One last very important thing: we do not want to have any musical symbols (like notes, scores, etc.) included. It has to looks business-like and not playful.
The two attached documents show some ideas we had - very plain sketches only of course.
