Our company aims to help businesses, publishers, authors and academics develop written content for in a variety of media – books, academic articles, blogs, web copy, marketing copy, business plans and just about everything else related to writing.
Primary: Business (consultants, publishers, corporations)
Secondary: Academics and independent book authors
We’re in the process of changing from a business that primarily serves the academic community to an enterprise that provides marketing, communications and publishing services to diverse clients around the world. More and more, we’re finding ourselves involved with new media projects, so it has become imperative that our logo reflect an appreciation for the online/new media aesthetic while remaining true to our academic clientele.
Prefer navy blue and/or gray as primary colors, dark red/crimson as secondary color, and anything else for accents. However, we are open to options if you see the situation differently.
Type can be title case (StyleMatters), all uppercase, or all lowercase.
Our tag line is: “Vital Writing for Dynamic Markets.” However, it does not need to be integrated into the logo itself unless you see a strong role for it.
We have considered the idea of an open book as part of the logo, but it would have to be executed in a way that also appeals to our new media clientele.
We have tried a variety of permutations with a quill pen, but all have ended up looking antiquated. Feel free to give the quill a try but it’s got to be something extraordinary to stand a chance!
Logo designs should be submitted as single plates showing the logotype on both white and black background. An optional depiction of a single color variation of the logo (all black logo on white background and/or vice versa) is appreciated.
All logo art must be original -- no clip art or use of istockphoto materials of course.
Final deliverable should be in a vector format (Adobe Illustrator preferred).
We look forward to reviewing your wonderful creative!
