The area of recycle, reuse and redesign is a particularly vibrant and rich source for innovative creation, artisanal heritage and environmental responsibility through slow design. Much of the beauty in these forgotten, and collected fabrics lies in their ready made past that are brought back to life through craftsmanship and contemporary style.
UPcycled £ TRAVELED matches past traveled fabric with present materials blending the two stories is a balancing act achieved through selecting, enhancing and matching of materials to bring uniques to the understated line of genderless bags.
Sorted by quality, texture and color, chosen materials which include wools, silk, nylon, old military kits, leather scraps, ship sails and travel trophies are brought back to life through dying, printing, patching, and craftsmanship with contemporary style.
All recycled materials are pre-consumer waste, meaning meaning they are sourced directly for designers, mills and cutting rooms, who donate their left over sample remnants, production offcuts and luxury leftovers.
Although U£T is still in its formative stages, the process of reusing these quality fabrics has felt right from the start as upcycled designs have minimal environmental impact and transparent production cycle.
U£T works with a small collection of home goods to better use certain colors and textures that lend themselves more readily to interior.
