We have an existing marketplace for b2b vacation home rentals. Our end b2b customers are very large travel sites that place real-time bookings for vacation homes.
During the booking process, currently we only receive the guest name, property, and check-in/check-out dates. There is a lot of information that's missing that's due to the nature of how the booking gets placed across global travel agencies. Just after the booking completes, we would ask that on the end travel agency web site, the customer is directed to a URL (OnlineFrontDesk.com) where they can fill out additional details about their upcoming stay. This is similar to how a cruise line booking occurs today. You make your cruise booking, and then the cruise line asks you to go directly to the cruise line web site to finalize details of your booking.
During this new vacation home booking finalization process we will confirm back to the customer to main details including the check in address, address of the property, check-in and check-out dates, etc. Then we would ** ask for details ** like mobile phone number, email address, skype handle, what time they expect to arrive (so the property manager knows when to expect them) etc. As well, if there is a security deposit needed for their stay, they will be able to put in their credit card and we will handle the online security deposit in a very smooth and easy fashion.
All of this is designed to make the customer arrival easier, enable the property manager to have detailed arrival and contact information, allow us to keep all of the details coordinated, and cut down on emails.
