This is a brash start-up that is looking to disrupt and revolutionize consumer package good data marketing industry with a new and powerful technology. Where current companies offer generalized and dubious consumer preference metrics, IMD will provide incredibly granular and precise information about every shopper using this free system. Additionally it will allow manufacturers to use this data in real time to influence shopper behavior at the moment they are making a buying decision in the store.
The patented system has a shopper scan a product barcode using his/her smart cell phone. This scan event triggers the delivery of individually customized electronic coupons from relevant competing manufacturers. Not just whatever coupons are currently being offered, but coupons customized to the preferences and behavior patterns of that shopper.
The tagline of "Knowledge + Access = Influence" is totally optional.
I'm open to all good ideas here. I'm hoping for a logo that somehow conveys the unprecedented precision and granularity of the shopper data here, the immediacy of the shopper access, the power of being able to know what motivates a shopper in real time and then being able to use that knowledge to influence their purchase while they are in the store with the product in hand.

The primary audience for this main corporate identity is:
1) Marketing advertising executives of consumer package goods (groceries, electronics, anything with a UPC barcode on it). People who want to better understand their shopper's behaviors and motivations
2) Marketing and advertising executives in general. People who want to slice and dice the data this system will have to better understand the market for new products.
3) Academic and Government researchers who will want to analyze the data to see behavioral trends and understand other market influences.
There are a lot of concepts listed above so I'm excited to see what you can come up with.
The idea behind "Insight" is the double entendre of insight as "an understanding of the motivational forces behind one's actions and behavior" combined with the idea of a custom coupon being delivered while products are "in sight" in the store.
