I like the idea of incorporating a "swift", as in the bird (http://www.google.com/images?q=swift+bird). Maybe as an abstract shape for a pictorial mark, or maybe as a character mascot (he/she should be cute, confident, and capable).
Audience: the product itself is business-focused, but a lot of my potential customers got into this business because they're musical/artsy. So I would say we want to appeal to a small business owner who is more artistically inclined than average. Beyond that I don't have a more specific demographic target.
Colors: I'm open to exploring a wide variety of color schemes. I intend to take the colors from the logo as a starting point for the rest of my website design, so any insights on how the logo colors can fit into a site design palette would be helpful.
Style: I'd rather convey a lot of personality than be bland and safe. I'm not averse to subtle and tasteful use of shadows, reflections, highlights, etc, but don't go overboard. Less is more. No stock photos, no obvious clip art.
In addition to the .ai file (if you use Illustrator), I'll ask you to export it to .svg (scalable vector graphics) for me as well. I know Illustrator can do the export, and it's easier for me to work with the .svg in my preferred open source tools.
