TW.LY
I'm the CEO of Twingly, a Swedish Internet startup consisting of 10 people having a great time meeting the challenge of taking our company from infancy to profitability.
Target audience is existing Twingly users that are familiar with our brand. The result shouldn't stray from our existing look and feel in order to captivate that audience.
Twingly is a blog and microblog search engine that can be found at Twingly.com. Later this fall we are looking to create a URL shortener service as part of a much larger project. The name and url of the URL shortener will be "tw.ly", and we need a logotype for that purpose.
Since the purpose of the service will be to compress URLs and the name in itself is a compressed version of our brand, the idea is to simply create a folded/shortened version of our existing logotype and use it as logotype.
Our existing logotype can be downloaded from:

Our idea of how to transform the logotype is illustrated here:

Information that might be useful for completing the project is that the graphic box and letter in the original logotype is rotated 4 degrees.
