BrandHabits
I'm a marketing professional based in Sydney, Australia. BrandHabits.net will be my personal blog. The blog will feature posts on a range of topics from brand strategy and positioning, to design, online marketing, social media and marketing trends.
BrandHabits is my term for what successful brands deliver to their customers day in and day out. Like Apple’s commitment to design and their focus on the design community, Southwest Air’s habits that form part of their exceptional customer service, and Virgin’s habits of always delivering a somewhat indefinable sense of fun.
BrandHabits are the good things that I’d advocate people who read the blog to do. Things like:
- Place the customer at the heart of your brand and marketing strategy
- Create expectations that you can fulfill (and more)
- Constantly learn from and re-evaluate your marketing by getting business and customer feedback.
The target audience will be other brand and marketing professionals. A network of past and potential future employers. Professionals from the likes of Wolff Olins, Landor, Interbrand as well as Digital Marketing professionals. It’s a potentially global audience likely to hail from New York, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Sydney and Singapore. These are the origins of some of my followers on Twitter.
They’ll visit the blog because they’ll expect to find commentary and opinion on latest marketing trends as well as observations on brand strategies / design.
Deliverables (photoshop files):
1 x logo
1 x header image – 920 x 180 pixels
I’m looking for a logo that I can use on other elements, such as buttons, documents etc as well as a header image for the blog – 920 x 180 pixels.
The blog is on Wordpress using the Vigilance template by Drew Stojny. http://themes.jestro.com/vigilance/
My goal for the design of the logo and the blog is to be simple and fresh. It should feel contemporary and convey the passion that I have for the topic I’m commenting on.
Typeface will be important. I like smooth, clean and bold fonts that standout well and can hold their own in a cluttered environment, not add to the clutter.
Favourite colours are blue, silver, black, white, yellow and orange. Yellow or orange combined with black is a favourite of mine, but the cleanness of blue / silver and black / white is also appreciated. I’m open to any of these combinations. Keen to explore ways to convey the concept of habits and passion for brands.
I'm excited about this project, so please expect lots of feedback and ask lots of questions if necessary.
