Boston's Best Coffee Roasters
Boston's Best Coffee Roasters is a well established New England Coffee Roaster, in business since 1979. One of our primary functions is to provide roasted, flavored, whole bean and ground coffee to independent and chain foodservice establishments, including: restaurants, hotels, gourmet coffee shops & diners as well as convenience stores. Although we have an established logo that we wish to keep, our current "to go" cup is plain, drab and boring - to say the least. As our designated marketing and design person (only because I taught myself how to use Photoshop & Illustrator for fun) I have attempted and failed to create a new, more colorful look for our to go cup and I am now begging for assistance. Can you please help me to create an image that will work well in both an upscale gourmet coffee shop and in a convenience store environment - something that that is classy and understated, and not flashy and cute.

As stated above, our "to go" logo cup is used primarily by gourmet coffee shops and convenience stores. But can also be used in office buildings, restaurants or diners... anywhere someone might be able to purchase a cup of joe to go. Your design could literally end up in the hands of thousands of people!
Below I am attaching our current drab Boston's Best logo cup, along with several of my failed attempts at pleasing the powers that be! I am also attaching a cup that one of the bosses brought to me as an example of something he really likes (cup wanna be). Other than that... no one can really pinpoint what we want our cups to look like. Some feel that since we have been brown and cream for 10 years we should stay that way - others think we need more color. One of the bosses is partial to a gradient and blended look. We do need to stay with our current logo... the medallion can or could not be used as part of that logo. We do want to include the statement "Award Winning Coffee" and we do want to include the cup size (by oz.). We would like to see the design in the proportions for a 12 oz. or a 16 oz. paper cup.
