We are in need of three components that will work well with eachother:
1.) A refined logo, primarily text-based
2.) A heart emblem that can stand alone or be combined with the logo
3.) A robot "mascot" that will work well with the heart emblem to be the voice of Otto, the carpooling robot
Otto is the college-focused brand that will get an on-demand carpooling and travel app into the hands of college-age adults and those who are young at heart.
We have initial versions of our app and website but need a more integrated image across platforms. The three items mentioned above should be able to be presented together or separately to represent the Otto brand.
For 1: We have a vision of Otto being a brand that conveys motion and community. Words representing the brand include: Easy, flexible, personable/friendly, futuristic, convenient, safe, fast, informative, secure, low-cost, modern, ready. We have a placeholder text logo (see attached), but haven't worked out how it would integrate with the other components. We like the idea of using the o's as wheels and t's as people, but are open to other ideas.
For 2: We realize that many companies brand themselves with a heart, or a heart likeness. The heart may have a unique pattern, such as checkered or striped, or maybe inside a tire.
For 3: Otto is a friendly carpooling robot from the future. His purpose is to make his users happy. Otto appreciates a kind word now and then, but his real satisfaction comes from seeing happy carpoolers. We envision him as part angel on your shoulder, part robotic uncle who always has your best interests at heart. The attached sketches give an idea of where we would like to go, and our mindset to date. In short, the robot should be friendly, have expressive eyes and we assume it to have a male voice. We have a preference for track wheels, unlike the sample image attached. However, what we do like about the sample robot is the facial expression and retro look - more "wall-e" than "eve".
