We are applying for the Voyagers Award at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards by Boat International and are in need of a world map designed with our route traveled over the past 18 months. The route covered includes crossing both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, along with Patagonia so the focus should be on the world’s oceans and islands in between (not the continents). A line of our route should be included - we have two boats that travel together so 2 lines should be represented with a legend.
If we win the award, the map will be showcased on Boat International’s website.
We would like the map to be split across land (i.e. Africa) so the entire Atlantic/Pacific Oceans are shown
Islands that we have stopped at should be easily visible or labeled
Color scheme and overall design is open-ended
Our logo and color-scheme is included if you would like to include it into the map
We have 2 boats that travel together (http://www.dorothea3.com) so lines should be represented for both boats as the basis of the application is that these boats have traveled a far distance together. They did not travel to the exact same countries so please take not of which boat traveled where.
Route to be outlined for both boats (Dorothea III and Post One) in the map is listed below:
- START: Panama City, Panama - June 2018
- Portugal (Portimao, Cascais)
- Canary Islands
- Cape Verde
- Ascension Island
- Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) - AT THIS POINT THE BOATS SEPARATE
DOROTHEA III continues onto the following:
- Puerto Madryn, Argentina
- Patagonia, Chile by way of the Straits of Magellan
- Galápagos Islands
POST ONE is shipped back to Panama City, Panama from Brazil and then meets DOROTHEA III back in the Galapagos. The shipping route from Brazil to Panama should be represented in a different manner than the rest (i.e. dotted line, etc.) so as to distinguish what the boat traveled on her own bottom vs. what she did not.
Both boats continue on from the Galapagos together to the remaining:
- Marquesas Islands
- END: Cairns, Australia
