PART 2 ** Affordable Magic http://www.affordablemagic.com/ About Us We've been operating in 1 form or another since 1998, moving with the trends of the Internet but always nearer the technical development end of the pool rather than the creative cove. Our clients tend to be design agencies that would rather have their teeth pulled than a) hire a full-time development team and steep the cost, or b) learn database schema architecture, UML or the other elements of application delivery we love. The part of our business has been good to us, but we want 2007 to be the year we focus on bringing in our own primary clients and being the cats that get the cream. The problem is, by not being client facing but the 'power behind the throne' types for other businesses success stories our marketing materials are awfully bad and desperately need TLC from a loving designer. That's you! Make a professional, trsutworthy and soothing identity for us and we'll not only pay you, we'll make a little shrine in our offices bedecked with offerings on a daily basis*. The contest We really, really want the person (or team) who design the logo to be the same person (or team -when we use person, we mean either) who design the business system. However we have enough experience to know that each person has strength and weaknesses, so we've split this contest into 2 parts that can be won or lost independently of each other: 1. The logo 2. The business system Let's take a peek at both: The Logo: This has a $100 bounty and will be awarded 1st (as the stationery really comes of its strengths). We have included a scan of our current logo on the front of our business card. To clarify on what we need, there is a real sense that our identity needs some work but we'renot convince whether this means a) a bit of polish and magic to freshen our existing look, or b) someone to see out the old and bring in a new identity and feel. Feel free to submit entries for either (or probably better) both. The Business System: This has a $150 bounty and will include the design for a business card, letterhead, envelope and compliment slip. The look of each of these follows the same pattern as 'The Logo', so concentrate on that first. Please note, that as far as the compliment slip goes we tend to send announcements of new services or our latest successful project out by e-mail. So the comp slip look will need to be something we can incorporate into our electronic communication i.e., it must be buildable in HTML. > This part closes on Sunday Feb 11 2007 at midnight PST. Notes: This contest is in fact the 1st of several, which will cover our web site and sales materials later. Needless to say that the winners of this competition will most likely be the primes of each of the subsequent projects -all told a tidy sum. The prize money will be sent on Monday Feb 12 2007 to the winners of both competitions (assuming of course the winners get their payment details to by Sunday Feb 11 2007 at midnight PST. Later than that and we'll pay whatever the next working day is here in Oregon, USA. * Well we'll try, but no promises. In Conclusion: If you have any questions please, please ask.
