I am interested in seeing some creative designs for tattoo art.
The winning image will have to be something that can be produced both as a tattoo AND as printed art suitable for framing.
I want to see art featuring the Naga (the king of serpents featured in both Hindu and Buddhist mythologies) raised in a protective posture as is seen often in imagery showing the Naga protecting the Buddha from the rain.
Rather than protecting the Buddha, I wish instead to see the Naga in a protective stance over a piglet, curled and asleep, lying on an ornate pillow set atop a short stack of books. (In much Hindu art, the Buddha is shown sitting atop the coils of the Naga, and I wish to echo this)
The coils of the Naga could continue to unfold below the resting piglet (e.g., to extend down the arm were a tattoo placed on a shoulder)
I am less partial to highly stylized Hindu representations of the Naga and prefer the single-headed cobra-like version to the multi-headed. I do not want anything "cartoonish" but prefer something more in the way of the Chinese / Japanese / Thai "asian art" style.
