Bel Ami Voyages: Love for Sail (see draft website at: http://www.wix.com/drdavegoodman/be…i-voyages)
I am a physician/boat captain/musician (piano, accordian, harmonica, bass clarinet) starting a new charter sailing venture. I have been sailing all my life, and love to sail. I own a beautiful world class 53 foot sailboat that is ideal for me and my mate and one other couple. I am a licensed captain. My greatest pleasure is to introduce new people to the joys of sailing the Virgin Islands, some of the most beautiful islands in the caribbean. For the past year I have been cruising in the Bahamas, and now have returned to the Virgin Islands to begin my charter business. You can find out more about what I've been up to over the past 3 years by going to my blog: http://www.belamivoyages.blogspot.com
There is an existing market of loving couples who are looking for a private, exclusive get-a-way for a special occasion, such as honeymoon, anniversary, or just a stress free holiday vacation away from the bustling crowds. The Virgin Islands is a major destination for newly married couples on their honeymoon. This is a relatively high end market, not your typical cruise ship couple. Rates for 7 days of all-inclusive sailing in the Virgin Islands is $6000. This includes all meals and beverages. Alternative packages range from 3 dinners and 3 lunches ($500 discount) to "captain only" where the couple and myself (the captain) actually go shopping, and all aboard help with meal preparation. Honeymooners get $1000 off any package. This is a great deal for new honeymooners who are on a relative budget and select the captain only charter: their cost is only $4000 plus expenses of food, beverage and port fees (around $100).
Another important target audience are couple who have taken a sailing course, and by virtue of the course are "certified" to do a "bareboat" charter, which means chartering their own sailboat without a captain. However, some of these couples have little experience, and a charter with Bel Ami Voyages would provide them with additional experience and give them the confidence to go out on their own the next time.
I have created a website at wix.com: the URL is http://www.wix.com/drdavegoodman/bel-ami-voyages. The bulk of my requirements are in the website, so I refer you to it. I would like to upgrade what I have done to a more professional level.
The home page is the most important...it should be the "grabber" for the female side of the couple (hence the little sailboat shooting hearts). The home page should be designed to reduce bounces. The site must also appeal to the male.
I also need to have a website that is different, unique and a step above the rest of I the charter boat website.
I actually need two websites: 1) "broker friendly" website that provides No contact information and 2) general public. Brokers would send inquires to the "broker friendly" website, to assure that potential clients contact them and not me. The only difference is 2) will have an additional contact page with my contact info, scheduling info, etc. One website would be "BelAmiVoyages.com" and the other would be "BelAmiVoyages.net"
On the website, there is a page referring to the vessel, that has a schematic of the vessel. What would be really great would be to have a webpage whereby the cursor hovered over the schematic and the matching picture showed up. I can do that on wix, and will probably try to do so while this contest is running.
