JollyOutings.com (temporary, brand will change)
JollyOutings.com is a collaborative community of family fun experts sharing information about the best family activities and destinations. The site is built on user-contributed content. Users can rate content posted by other users. The idea is to put together the best user-generated guide of destinations to visit with kids.
Families with kids of any age.
Wire frames are attached. Please view them.
I'm planning to use the jQuery UI to build the front-end and I would like to use the “UI lightness” theme, so please design something that fits around that.

I prefer something fairly minimalist. Colours should be bright and fun, but the design should not be childish. There is a lot of text on the site and I need a good design to break up the content sections and make the site look good.
I prefer the background on the site where text appears to be white. The boxes can be filled with a background colour, but very light if at all. In other words, text should be dark and the background light like on most other sites.
The width of the site should be 950 pixels.
Please don't include photographs because I don't want photos that don't relate to specific destinations on the site. However, you should include line graphics.
I already have some graphics for the ratings. They are attached. Note that a logo is not required.

I would like to see an attractive graphic for each of the boxes on the left to make them stand out. Preferably, each box heading should include a nice illustration. The illustrations should be fun. For example, for the contributor tools box I'm thinking about something like "TLC" (needs tender loving care). Something that encourages people to contribute. I definitely don't want to see anything technical there, e.g. no spanners!
Destinations are shown on the right in the boxes.

You can see the content in the wire frames. There is a lot of text. Design something to break this up a bit and make the page look interesting.
I need a nice "more content needed" logo or icon.
This is a new site.
