Fundfill is a fund-raising site designed to attract high-end, charitable givers to pledge money towards "funds" hosted by this site. The site is designed to allow these users to browse existing funds, create their own funds, and feel comfortable pledging money to funds already in the works. A stately, high-end feel is desired in the logo and home page design. A starter design is located at http://www.fundfill.com, and the current business card logo is at http://www.fundfill.com/Content/ima…l-logo.jpg. However, these are meant only as a guide since the name, logo, and web design are only a week old! Be creative, and don't feel constrained.
Edit: Please make sure a web page layout accompanies any logos. The logo may or may not change, however, I will only be awarding the best layout.
20-60 year old affluent adults. If you've even been to a charity event, black tie or casual, you've seen the target market we're aiming for. Looking for conscientious users who may donate money or who may have never tried but are interested in an easier way to fund something.
Fully layered PSD using standard web fonts for text (logo and graphics are the exception). No flash or animations.
Stylistically, I'm not looking for a hundred colors - I'd like a few colors that work well together and bring out the design. However, the user should be drawn to look at 1) the logo, 2) the 3 centerpieces (Fund it, Fill It, and Win It), and 3) the featured content at the bottom. The design should be easy to use and easy to navigate and professional.
Certain elements of the home page are required. A FundFill logo with a subheader ("Fund it. Fulfill it. Win it") should be on the top bar / area. Other elements in the top area are 1) a horizontal navigation bar, 2) a register / sign in / username signed in element, and 3) a search box. The main area of the page should focus on three calls to action that explain my website: 1) Fund It, 2) Fulfill It, 3) Win It. Each of these three will have short explanatory text explaining what each one means (see current fundfill.com page). Additional text describing the site needs to be after or near these three centerpieces. Finally, a "Featured" section should list featured content, along with titles and screenshots. Be creative and throw ideas at me. I intend to be very active, receptive, open, and directly honest. For example, I think the example layout I provided looks pretty plain except for the cursive F, F, and W in the center of the page. :)
The top area will be the header of every web page on the site.
I want to clarify one or two things and also add one or two elements. #2 above (the register/sign in/username element) should probably be a Register button (use an accent color to highlight this) and a sign in button with username and password fields available. Once a user logs in, this will switch to "username is logged in" but it's not necessary to have that present in the design presented here.
Within the three elements (Fund/Fulfill/Win it), certain text should be a web link: "Pledge the money", "fulfill someone's desire," and "winner." The three elements are each a call to action in themselves and should draw a user interested in doing that action to click the link. A "click here" link is optional, but not preferred. Let your design dictate whether it's appropriate or not.
Featured Content section: I'd like to see how 3-5 pieces of content would look in your layout. Each piece of content will be represented by a thumbnail image and a title. Titles could be 3-10 words long, so be able to accommodate at least the first 4 or 5 words - the rest can be cut off with ellipses (...).
A bottom bar with a repeat of the links in the top bar, only smaller, is desired but not necessary. However, I will need a "Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org" link in the bottom bar. I'd also like a "How it works" link (somewhere in the page) and a "Success stories" link or section. Please note that the initial publication of this website won't have a "Success stories" section or link, so make sure your design wouldn't be awkward if it were missing.
I've changed the subheader text to be "Fund It. Fulfill It. Win It."
Last but not least, the logo is not set in stone. While I'm liking the original logo more and more, the stylized/script F is pretty stale and could use an update. However, keep any logo changes subtle and focus on the capital F image. I like creativity with it, but not at the expense of the elegant image I'm going for. FundFill should be one word, with the second F capitalized.
