This contest holder wanted a modern and clean logo, but with a cool, retro flavor. I chose to represent the logomark in the form of a stylization of the letter M, giving it volume with a twist by using the illusion of the three dimensions to create an impossible shape. I used a vintage-inspired font in all-caps for the name, easily readable, but expressive through its long, wavy lines, complementing the straight lines and sharp corners of the M shape and a simpler font for the word “architect” that curves like and arch above the logomark. As a final accent, I gave the logo an overall stamp-like retro texture, giving it a little more depth and expressivity.
