For this project we first used pencil studies (see portfolio for examples) to test ideas, with the contest holder guiding the process & only proceeded to the colour stage once the contest holder was satisfied with the design. This meant there was more time to try out a variety of ideas which meant more choice for the client. Trying to work backward from the colour stage means you have to not only redraw, but also re-colour the work. This means that in all likelihood, it won't happen at all because of time constraints.")

There was a great opportunity here to create something that was visually strong - having some of the flame elements carry over into her hair. That alone could've become something uniquely identifiable to her work and brand, but it wasn't meant to be.
Unfortunately the client didn't offer any feedback whatsoever.")
